About Institution's Innovation Council (IIC)

Ministry of Education (MoE), Govt. of India has established 'MoE's Innovation Cell (MIC)' to systematically foster the culture of Innovation amongst all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs).

An Institution's Innovation Council (IIC) is a program that encourages innovation and entrepreneurship in higher education institutions. The IIC is a collaboration between the Ministry of Education's (MoE) Innovation Cell (MIC) and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). 

IIC's goals

• To encourage students to be creative, solve problems, and start their own businesses 
• To encourage faculty to participate in innovation and entrepreneurship activities 
• To address challenges like low involvement of top leadership and underutilization of creative potential 

IIC activities 

• Organizing workshops, seminars, and hackathons
• Providing mentoring and support to students and faculty
• Helping students develop prototypes from their ideas
• Teaching design thinking and project management skills
• Helping students understand intellectual property rights (IPR)

IIC membership

IICs are made up of students, faculty, and sometimes industry representatives. They act as a hub for innovation and entrepreneurship activities on campus.

Kasturi Ram College of Higher Education established its Institutions’ Innovation Council (IIC) to carry out all the IIC activities on a regular basis throughout the year and meet regularly in the beginning of every quarter to review the progress made in the previous quarter and also to plan for the upcoming quarter.
